We invite you to experience high-country farm life with our family and enjoy the unhurried atmosphere of Wilden Station Homestay, our Central Otago bed and breakfast. Established in 1908, Our Central Otago farmstay is a large (1,800 hectares) high country sheep and cattle property.

Relax in our gracious and comfortable homestead – Our Central Otago bed and breakfast is set in spacious grounds with established gardens and trees. Stroll through forest to a charming lake.

On our farm, watch our farm dogs at work or explore our historic farm buildings, including a stable with wooden cobblestones and the original ten-stand woolshed which is still in use today.

Enjoy smoko on the verandah of our Musterers' Hut high above the Pomahaka river while on an optional tour of the property.

Enjoy the varied and stunning scenery then return home to a superb meal prepared by your internationally experienced chef/hostess.

Attractions near our Central Otago Bed and Breakfast

  • Location – Wilden is equidistant from Dunedin and Queenstown or Wanaka, making an ideal country retreat for you (see map). We are just 15 minutes off the main highway linking Queenstown and Dunedin.
  • Golf – There are three golf courses within a 30 kilometre radius at Heriot, Tapanui and Roxburgh.
  • Fishing – The renowned Pomahaka River bounds our property. A recent guest tagged many fish including a 10 pound, 8 ounce trout!
  • Cycling – Two geared bikes (and helmets) are available for your use.
  • Vineyards – We are on the edge of the Central Otago wine region where many world acclaimed wines are produced.
  • Hosts – Your hosts at Wilden Station Homestay are Peter and Sarah Adam. The have journeyed extensively worldwide and enjoy welcoming travellers to their home. They have two school age boys and are happy to accommodate families.

Facilities at our Central Otago Bed and Breakfast

Upstairs, a queen room opens on to a private balcony overlooking the garden and farm. It has an adjoining twin room suitable for children ( cot available upon request ). These rooms share a private bathroom.

Downstairs, a queen room opens to the garden, and has an en suite bathroom with shower and double bath.

We offer speciality breakfasts which may be served in your room. Your choice of bacon and eggs, pancakes, croissants, Danish pastries, toast or our special oatcakes as well as a choice of cereals and fruit.

Sarah, as an internationally experienced chef, prepares superb three course evening meals and picnic lunches. Please book prior to arrival.
